Viano Quartet Receives Avery Fisher Career Grant

We are so pleased to congratulate the Viano Quartet on receiving one of three 2025 Avery Fisher Career Grants. The “superb North American group” (The New Yorker) are currently in residence with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Bowers Program and are in the middle of a busy 2024-2025 season with appearances at Wolf Trap, Tuesday Evening Concert Series, Northwestern University, Society of the Four Arts in FL, MoCA Westport in CT, Chamber Music Yellow Springs in OH, and the chamber music societies of Dallas, Salt Lake City and Chamber Music Monterey Bay.

The Viano Quartet were announced on Tuesday evening at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space at WQXR along with violinist Joshua Brown and cellist Tommy Mesa. The announcement was hosted by WQXR’s Elliott Forrest and included performances by all three Career Grant recipients, webcast live by New York’s classical station WQXR. It will be broadcast on Thursday, April 3, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 5, at 9 p.m. on 105.9 FM. In addition, PBS’ Great Performances will feature the 2025 Career Grant recipients in Taking Note, a digital series spotlighting rising instrumentalists.

Since 1976, 179 Career Grants have now been awarded. Previous Career Grant recipients include Joshua Bell, Augustin Hadelich, Hilary Hahn, Anthony McGill, Kirill Gerstein, Conrad Tao, George Li and Yuja Wang.
