Mezzo-Soprano Sun-Ly Pierce Joins the Roster
Opus 3 Artists is thrilled to welcome Sun-Ly Pierce to its roster in collaboration with Askonas Holt. A Third Prize winner of the 2024 Operalia competition, the Chinese-American mezzo-soprano is rapidly establishing herself as a versatile and dynamic artist, excelling in both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
During the 2024-25 season, Sun-Ly will return to several notable theaters for exciting role debuts, including Opera Philadelphia, Detroit Opera in a new production of Così fan tutte by Yuval Sharon, and Des Moines Metro Opera in The Cunning Little Vixen. On the concert stage, she will debut with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, Britt Festival Orchestra, and Colorado Springs Philharmonic. She will also return to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for Die Walküre under the baton of Music Director Fabio Luisi. Future seasons include a debut with The Santa Fe Opera, as well as returns to The Metropolitan Opera and Houston Grand Opera.
Ms. Pierce is a first-place winner of the Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers and a graduate of the prestigious Butler Studio at Houston Grand Opera. She has won top prizes in the Marilyn Horne Song Competition, the Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition, and the Butler Opera International Voice Competition, among others. She will be managed at Opus 3 by Trevor Newman and Nathan Wentworth, and at Askonas Holt by Dominic Domingo and Mathieu Levan.
