perfection.”

Gravity & Other Myths is the “jaw-dropping” circus company from Adelaide, Australia, who are known for their honest approach to performance, creating work that emphasizes human connection and acrobatic virtuosity. Since its formation in 2009 by a group of young Adelaide artists passionate about circus and physical theatre, the company has steadily grown over 13 years, producing six critically acclaimed main stage works.
GOM will return to North America in the 2026-2027 season with Ten Thousand Hours, their latest production that celebrates the dedication and perseverance required to achieve greatness. Featuring eight world-class acrobats, the show explores how physical skill is obtained, perfected, and how it can transform lives. Through breathtaking acrobatics, it pays tribute to the countless hours of practice behind every perfected movement, offering audiences a deeper appreciation of the spectacular feats they witness. Ten Thousand Hours is both a love letter to the human body and an invitation to watch it work—an acknowledgment of the beauty in the process as much as the outcome.
Their first work, A Simple Space, achieved international success, earning multiple awards and performing nearly 1,000 times across 34 countries. The follow-up production, Backbone, has been touring for five years, garnering awards and critical acclaim, including three Helpmann Award nominations. In 2019, Out Of Chaos… premiered at the Adelaide Festival, receiving the Helpmann Award for Best Physical Theatre. The Pulse and MACRO represent the company’s largest and most ambitious productions to date, likely the largest contemporary circus works in Australian history. These works have significantly elevated their artistic profile on the global stage.
The company has been widely recognized by the circus industry, the broader arts community, and audiences worldwide for its unique playfulness, honesty, and physical mastery. Beyond the stage, they are deeply committed to engaging with both their immediate and global communities through workshops and educational programs.
Their work nurtures human connection while challenging the circus genre through conceptual sophistication and acrobatic virtuosity. Known for an ensemble-driven creative process, the company encourages its artists to deeply engage with the work, fostering a true commitment to the company’s core values.
As a leader in contemporary circus in Australia, the company embraces its responsibility to continuously challenge and redefine circus as an art form.
