SOUNDCAKE is an aural confection of standard repertoire, audacious adaptations, and original pieces that pay homage to the queerness present in both centuries-old art forms. The scripted semi-staged concert traces the superstars\u2019 own journeys through live performance; recalling community in the church, modern depictions of classical music, and the influence of opera divas in their drag personas. SOUNDCAKE brought a sold-out crowd of classical aficionados and Drag Race superfans to their feet at the opening of Lincoln Center\u2019s Summer for the City in June 2024.<\/p>\n
