The London Philharmonic Orchestra announced the extension of Karina Canellakis as Principal Guest Conductor for a second term three-year term through the 26-27 season. Karina will continue to conduct a minimum of 5 concerts each season in London\u2019s Royal Festival Hall, as well other concerts with LPO partner venues and cities in the UK. She will also tour with the orchestra in Europe, including next month to the Athens Megaron, Vienna\u2019s Musikverein, Munich\u2019s Ysarphilharmonie, and Essen Philharmonie.<\/p>\n
Canellakis took up the post in September 2021 and has enjoyed many highlights so far including giving the UK premiere of Tania Le\u00f3n\u2019s Horizons<\/em> in October 2023, the first presentation of Le\u00f3n\u2019s music as the LPO\u2019s new Composer-in-Residence.
