Opus 3 Welcomes Vocal Sensation Sheléa
09.26.18
Sheléa
Opus 3 Artists is pleased to announce the signing of singer/pianist/songwriter Sheléa for exclusive booking representation throughout North America. With a voice that stirs the soul and hands that effortlessly glide over the keys, Sheléa represents a return to true artistry that has garnered much attention and adoration from legends throughout the music industry. Blendingtraditional pop, jazz, R&B and soul, she brings a contemporary edge to classics and a classic touch to contemporary pop standards.
Sheléa's résumé speaks for itself. She's toured with Stevie Wonder and David Foster, recorded with Brian McKnight and Take 6 as well as written for and sang on several major motion picture soundtracks. She's performed at the White House, Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, to name a few. She's also appeared on several PBS specials and can be seen honoring Tina Turner with a performance on the upcoming broadcast of PBS' A Grammy Salute to Music Legends (air date: Oct 5, 2018).
Though Sheléa's career began in the world of R&B, her enormous talent quickly transcended the boundaries of genre. This is most evident in her much-anticipated upcoming third album Pretty World: Through the Eyes of Alan and Marilyn Bergman (Breath of Life Records/Universal). After a serendipitous meeting with iconic husband and wife lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Sheléa was invited to record a collection of their songs. The album will consist of 12 songs handpicked by the Bergmans, including several never-before released and a new arrangement of "Make Me Rainbows," which Sheléa debuted at the ASCAP Jazz Awards honoring Marilyn Bergman. Selections from this album will be featured in concert throughout the 2019-2020 season alongside a mix of classics both old and new that have helped shape Sheléa's journey as an artist.
Check out the video below for an interview with the Bergmans on discovering Sheléa and click here for a preview of the album. And see what happened when Sheléa stepped into Capitol Studios to record her own tribute to the late Queen of Soul.
Sheléa is under the general management of Quincy Jones Productions.
