Opus 3 Artists Welcomes Conductor Ruth Reinhardt

05.22.17
Ruth Reinhardt

Opus 3 Artists is pleased to welcome conductor Ruth Reinhardt for worldwide representation.

Ruth Reinhardt is now finishing her first season as assistant conductor at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, working with DSO music director and New York Philharmonic music director-designate Jaap van Zweden. She has recently conducted The Cleveland Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and the Orchester Musikkollegium Winterthur in a concert televised throughout Switzerland. In summer 2017 she will make debuts with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Symphony Orchestra (Sweden). Opera productions she has conducted include Rusalka and Der Freischütz for the North Czech Opera Company, and Die Fledermaus at the Leipzig University of the Arts.

Born in Saarbrücken, Germany, Ruth began studying violin at an early age and sang in the children's chorus of the Saarländisches Staatstheater. A precocious talent, by age 17 she had already composed and conducted an opera for children which was performed in her native city. She attended Zurich's University of the Arts (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) to study violin with Rudolf Koelman, and began her training in conducting with Constantin Trinks. She received her master's degree in conducting from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Alan Gilbert.

Prior to her appointment in Dallas, Ms. Reinhardt was a conducting fellow at the Seattle Symphony (2015-16), Tanglewood Music Center (2015), and an associate conducting fellow of Marin Alsop's Taki Concordia program (2015).
