Dallas Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Reinhardt (Nov. 17). Van Zweden has the orchestra reliably playing on very high standards these days, and he and guest conductors Pinchas Steinberg and Donald Runnicles have led thrilling performances this year. But on one day's notice, Reinhardt, the orchestra's 20-something new assistant conductor, stepped in to prepare and lead a challenging program of Brahms and Lutoslawski with clarity and authority.
