Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra announces that up and coming violin virtuoso Simone Porter will make her Music Hall debut with the CSO conducted by Music Director Louis Langrée during its concerts on Friday and Saturday, February 19-20 (8 p.m.). "Future star... Wait. Let's strike 'future.' She sounds ready. Now." said the Los Angeles Times after her recent performance with the L.A. Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel. At age 19, she has also already  performed  with  the  New  York  Philharmonic,  the  Philadelphia  Orchestra  and  many renowned conductors.

The impassioned emerging artist will perform Barber’s Violin Concerto, stepping in for the originally scheduled soloist, CSO Concertmaster Timothy Lees, who had to withdraw from these performances due to a physical stress injury. Mr. Lees anticipates returning to the concertmaster chair by the following subscription performances on Feb. 26 & 27.
