Festival summer with Matthias Pintscher

As composer and conductor Matthias Pintscher has residencies at several festivals this summer. The Grafenegg Festival opens with the premiere of his Fanfare for two trumpets, and orchestral works feature in the programme: Chute d’étoiles. Hommage à Anselm Kiefer (30.8.2015) and Ex Nihilo (4.9.15). – The Lucerne Festival is holding a “Day for Pierre Boulez” under the direction of Matthias Pintscher, which features the premiere of Now I for piano solo (23.8.15). As well as this, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra performs Pintscher’s Osiris (23.8.15). – A diverse and varied composer portrait can be heard at the Moritzburg Festival from 25 to 30 August. Jan Vogler, the artistic director, gives the premiere of Pintscher’s Now II for cello (26.8.15), and the programme also includes several chamber music works for strings. – Finally, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra performs Mar’eh for violin and orchestra with soloist Renaud Capuçon conducted by the composer on 12 and 13 September at the Musikfest Berlin.
