There's something ageless about Jonathan Biss. He is only 32, yet his intelligence and super-seriousness wouldn't disgrace a man of double those years - though his off-the wall humour and perceptions of paradox and absurdity might put him almost as much in line with Woody Allen as with his famed pianist mentor, Leon Fleisher. And beyond that, when I find him in the Wigmore Hall cafe after his rehearsal, Biss gives the impression that he has one foot distinctly in the 19th century.
