Helmuth Rilling awarded Herbert von Karajan Music Prize 2011

IFCM Honorary Patron Helmuth Rilling has been awarded the prestigious Herbert von Karajan Music Prize 2011.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place in Baden Baden, Germany, on November 11th, 2011, on the occasion of a gala concert at the Festspielhaus conducted by Rilling himself (Bach Cantata BWV 70 “Wachet, Betet” and Mozart Requiem in Robert Levine’s version) .

The prize money of 50,000 Euros must be used for music training and development of young talents.
